Over 343,000 tons of WEEE collected in Italy in 2019

12th Annual Report of the WEEE Coordination Centre and new dedicated portal

Nel 2019 raccolte in Italia oltre 343mila tonnellate di RAEE

Over 343,000 tons of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) were collected in Italy in 2019. This is what emerges from the analysis of the data released with the 12th Annual Report of the WEEE Coordination Centre, the central body that organizes the activity of all the Collective Systems of the producers of electrical and electronic equipment that manage WEEE in Italy, and which represents the reference for the entire domestic WEEE chain.

This is an extremely positive result, up by more than 10% compared to 2018, which confirms and further improves the trend of recent years.

Valle d'Aosta is confirmed as the most virtuous region of Italy for per capita collection, almost double the national rate, while Tuscany is also a stand-out region. Campania is the best for absolute quantities collected in Southern Italy, but comes last for per capita collection.

The WEEE Coordination Centre has also published a new service, the website raeeitalia.it, designed to present current and historical data. The new web platform was developed by integrating Pingendo, a tool for designing and updating modern and reliable websites, with Google Data Studio, the Data Visualization tool that allows you to create interactive reports that can be accessed by anyone from any device.
